PROTECTIVE STYLE

                                                                       Protective Styles
Hey hair lovers, we are here again with another post y'all are definitely going to love.😊.Today we’ll be talking about protective styling. First of all, we’d like to thank everyone that has been checking out our posts, trying regimens and supporting us in any way,we're grateful
Okay so,we see protective styling as every naturals "time to rest " because it is low maintenance compared to when you have your natural hair out. As we approach the harmattan season, it’s really a good idea to “get your hair off your neck” with a protective style, be it braids, twists, weaves, up dos , basically anything to protect the ends of your hair because the weather isn’t natural hair friendly.

The main aim of protective styling is to decrease tangling , shredding and breakage of the hair while protecting the ends. It also encourages growth retention , by growth retention we mean maintaining the length of your hair.
In some cases, people talk about how braids grow their hair. That's one of the many advantages of protective styles
Other advantages of having a PS(protective style) is that you don’t need to stress about detangling your hair for awhile ( about 3-6weeks) depending on how long you carry your hair, your arms get to rest from all the washing and it honestly saves styling time.
Ofcourse anything that has advantages also comes with disadvantages , too much PS and carrying it for too long can lead to
-Dryness; from hair that is left untouched and uncared for for too long
-Breakage; from over manipulating the hair to create elaborate styles.

Having said this, we at Fro et Curls are prepared for this season with our protective styles.  I ( Augusta) have my two strand twists kinky installed using 2 packs of X-pression collection Ceres kinky

and I(Sandra) have a 16” center part straight weave on.

yes,I love my food just as much 😇
Always remember to care for your hair even when its in a PS , out of sight isn’t out of mind here. We care for ours by oiling the scalp with a combination of olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil and amla oil (which is very good for preventing dandruff) . This should be done atleast twice in a week to avoid dry scalp and flakes.

Oh and before we forget, for those of you who pick braids as your protective style, pay attention to how the stylist picks your hair. If its too tight,it sometimes pulls out your hair and we wouldnt want that😊

Thank you so much for reading, getting feedback from our readers would make us very happy

Thank you queens and always remember to uplift each other💕💕. Stay blessed💋

  1. Another great post I think I'm in love with Fro et curls blog. What's alma oil and what consistency should all the oils be mixed?
