HAIR GROWTH MYTHS

                                                                    HAIR GROWTH MYTHS
Hellooo Fro Queens , we’d first of all like to wish you all a very happy new year. We hope you’re all able to achieve the goals you’ve set for yourselves.
We are going to hop into the topic of today. This topic is going to appeal to a lot of you cause I mean, who doesn’t want long waist-length natural hair. Today we’ll be talking about hair growth myths and well also give an estimate of the ones that have worked for us.
Here’s a list of some myths
I. Dirty hair grows faster
II. Fish oil makes hair grow faster
III. Hair grows faster when it is trimmed frequently
IV. Protective styling helps retention of length
V. Inversion method for hair growth
VI. Quit Shampooing
VII. Use of cayenne pepper for faster hair growth

I. So, this is a funny one, dirty hair grows faster. Some people would hop on a bandwagon because they already dread the thought of wash day and the “stress” that comes with it. This is a no from us cause we loveeeee wash days.

II. Fish oil! Yes, fish oil. There is a scientific back up for this, apparently as a secondary benefit of fish oil, it provides nutrients for hair follicles which supports hair growth and prevents hair loss. This is a yes from us.

III. Okay now, this is an oldddddd one I’m sure everyone has heard of, hair grows faster when trimmed because dead ends negate hair growth. A-okay on this one. So cut it! Cut it !! 💃🏼

IV. Protective styling helps retention of length. YES! YES!! YES!!! A million and one beautiful fro queens can testify to this and we honestly agree. Ameannn, check out our previous post on protective styling here.  Not having to manipulate your hair so much and keeping it protected can definitely retain growth and maybe add a little

V. Inversion method for hair growth. This one is science, lol. It involves oiling your scalp and hanging your head in an inverted manner while sitting on a chair and massaging it for about five minutes. It should be done atleast once a week for about a month. Apparently, this increases blood flow  to the scalp and reinvigorates slowly-growing hair follicles thereby increasing hair growth. WELLLLL, I(Augusta) tried this awhile back and I had to stop after two weeks because I was having terrible headaches due to the flipping of my head for so long , I was not about to die of headache because I wanted longer hair soo it’s a nooo noo.
VI. Quit Shampooing 😮😮, personally I don’t feel we should go into this because the right shampoo can do so much for your hair. So this is hmmm, nah!
But rumor has it, some women rather use baking soda/vingar and their favorite essential oil to remove product build up as opposed to washing.

VII. Last but not least, use of cayenne pepper. We have seen this method but really don’t know what to think of it. It says to mix olive oil/castor oil/water + cayenne pepper in appropriate amounts and massage into your scalp.

Some women swear by a few of these methods but we think it's important to find what suits you and stick to it. Like we always say, everyone's hair is different
