MY EXPERIENCE AT THE AFRO HAIR CULTURE AND BEAUTY FESTIVAL 2019

Hello! Sandra here. I hope everyone's doing okay 😊.. In December 2019 ,I volunteered at the first ever Afro Hair Culture and Beauty festival  in Lagos ,Nigeria organized by the beautiful Adanna Egwuatu Enwezor, Photizo life foundation, It was a truly wholesome experience ,so i thought to share it with you all ..in a few short paragraphs.

It was a two day event ..On the first day, the vendors arrived early to set up their stands and put their products on display. you might recognize some of the vendors from Instagram lol..names like NHR ,Ziiza empire ,Oneandko , 360 naturals ,AMARIAM ,AfrobyNature,African naturalistas and many others. The event was hosted by Uti Nwachuku ,I bet yall know him 👀, Some other stars such as Uriel Oputa, Venita Akpofure, the Ozunba twins and some of our very own "natural hair celebrities" ; Kemi Lewis, Igbocurls,Yellow sisi and a few others..oh before i forget, the first lady of Ogun state ,Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, was also in attendance and also gave  a speech on stage.
In terms of entertainment, there was comedy and an exhilarating dance performance by a cultural group..
Most of the people in attendance went straight to the red carpet after registration to take pictures and record mini interviews courtesy the media outlets present and later proceeded to check out the various stands.
Towards the end of the show,  the models walked the runway showcasing different lovely African inspired hair styles. After this, the extreme hair competition begun , hosted by Dadaboy Ehiz.7 stylists were picked for the finale which took place on the second day .
Before the event came to an end ,there was a raffle draw and the winners went home with gifts from sponsors .and everyone else left with goody bags and smiles on their faces.

me, squeezing a few pictures in ✌

Day two, the event was hosted by the beautiful Uriel Oputa..beforehand,a little game was played amongst the audience to put everyone in high spirits. The cultural dancers delivered a very captivating performance after which there was a panel discussing the beauty and uniqueness of our natural hair amongst other things ,very enlightening might I add.

Nowww for my favourite part of the event ,,THE KEMI LEWIS as I like to call her asked me to be her model for the live demo she had to do on stage , i had to do a little walk and everything ,  it was a fun experience and she did amazing because duh ,she's super talented 😉

The Anambra cultural dancers performed again towards the end of the event and to round up ,a winner was chosen for the extreme hair competition and they went away with the sum of #500000 naira (What i need right now 🙂 )
Mrs Adanna gave a closing speech and thanked everyone that contributed in every way to make the event a success. Once again, everyone went home with goody bags and smiles on their faces.

I'm really glad I got the chance to be a part of this wonderful event and meet so many beautiful people ,it was an amazing experience . 10/10 would love to attend in 2020 💛💛
